The Beastie Boys have made their new album “Hot Sauce Committee Pt.2” available to stream via Soundcloud. After a couple of listens I can safely say I love it. A beautiful blend of the old with the new. At times reminiscent of Ill Communication and Paul’s Boutique; Hot Sauce Committee marks a new turn in the continuous evolution of NYC’s finest.
The Antlers are due to release the highly anticipated follow up to the acclaimed “Hospice” on May 11th through Frenchkiss Records. “Burst Apart” is the fourth offering from the Brooklyn natives and sees the band continue to mature and grow as a unit. Here is a band that I first came in to contact with about 2 years ago, in the show’s infancy. All i knew back then is that Cults consisted of one guy and one guy from Brooklyn, New York.
Now it has been revealed that the duo will release their debut album in May. The track below;”Abducted” was released for Record Store day as a limited edition 7″. Whether it features on the album or not is yet to be revealed but its definitely shaping up to be the soundtrack to the summer of many worldwide.
Mexican Garage band Le Butcherettes are due to release their debut LP entitled Sin Sin Sin next month via Rodriguez-Lopez Productions. The album was produced by the man behind the label, Mars Volta and ex At The Drive-In guitarist, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. The band is a three piece consisting of Terri Gender Bender on vocals guitar and keys, Gabe Serbian from The Locust on Drums, and Jonathan Hischke on bass.
Le Butcherettes have already opened for the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and The Dead Weather and this Summer the trio embark on a tour with seminal Sacramento band, Deftones.
Pioneering Dublin label The Richter Collective have just announced that they will curate the Lighthouse Stage at this years Forbidden Fruit Festival. The 2 day event taking place in the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) over the June Bank Holiday is already playing host to the likes of Aphex Twin, Caribou, Battles, Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo and more for an absolute steal at 50 bucks per day.
Joining the aforementioned will be a feast of Richter delights; The Cast of Cheers, BATS, Enemies, Squarehead, Not Squares and Californian math rockers Tera Melos as part of their recent collaboration with sister label Sargent House (US). Grab your ticket while they are still available.
