Loving this new video for Beirut’s Santa Fe. Its shot by Sunset Television who’s sense of humor is top.
Last week saw the release of long awaited new material by The Cinematic Orchestra. Entr’acte is René Clair’s Dada-influenced 20-minute short, commissioned for the interval of Francis Picabia’s new ballet, Relâche, in Paris in 1924. The original music for the film was composed by the famous composer Erik Satie, who makes a cameo appearance along side surrealist photographer Man Ray
Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood has recorded an album with Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki according to Radiohead fansite TKOL 2. The two got together in Krakow last week after the European Culture Congress in Wroclaw and recorded an album of songs played at said concert. The album was produced by the Artistic Director of the Sacrum Profanum festival, Filip Berkowicz, and will be released by Nonesuch Records.
Also on the bill at the ECC was Aphex Twin who, along with Greenwood, was performing his own renditions of Penderecki’s works.
Debut performance of one of the tracks on his soon to be released Enough Thunder EP.
Nouveaunoise return with the release of their follow up to last years drastically overlooked Paraphrase Accolade. The new EP form Nial Conway and Conor Gaffney is called Sequence Consequence and is available from the duo’s bandcamp for whatever price you choose.
If you’ve been listening to the show over the last few weeks you’ll know that I’m terribly fond of this stuff and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
